Update: Busy Times

Hey everyone! I wanted to give a quick personal update explaining what’s going on in my life and where I’m at currently with the blogs.

As dedicated readers of this blog may know, 2020 has not been my best year for putting out content. All things considered, this has been a better year for my family and me than it has been for many others. I’m lucky to still have a part-time job for supplemental income in a time when many are jobless and wondering how they will pay their bills. For that, I am grateful.

But for me, this year, writing has mostly fallen by the wayside. I plan on changing that, and to that effect, I’ve been conjuring up ideas for articles you’ll see here soon. I have a hefty list of ideas waiting to be put into article form, and as soon as my life gets a little less hectic, I’ll be getting to work on them.

I’m also updating the look of my personal blog, The Annac Blog, and I plan on writing articles specifically for that blog in the future. Those writings may not carry the same themes you’ve come to expect from me on here – spirituality, empathy, philosophical musings, etc. But they’ll still be coming from me, so in many ways, they will be the same.

In the past couple of years, I’ve taken an interest in studying history. It started with the history of the area I live in, but the more I get into it, the more I realize that I enjoy studying and maybe even writing about historical events and places. In the future, you might see that type of content over on The Annac Blog.

I have also put a little work into Cannac, my blog that’s intended to cover all things cannabis – but that project is still very much under construction. Considering the other things I’m working on, it may be a while yet before I start posting there regularly.

With everything going on this year and personal health becoming the main concern for many people, including me; I’ve decided to start taking better care of myself. It’s funny that of all years, 2020 is the time I get serious about exercising.

In a time when gyms across the country are still closed, mine has thankfully remained open. I’m taking advantage of it as much as I can, and so far, I’ve managed to keep a good, consistent exercise routine. Like many, I consider exercise vital for good physical and mental health.

I’ve also decided to get my dental health in order this year. I’ve always had bad teeth, but recently, the problem has become worse than I realized. Since I don’t want to start losing all my teeth, I’ve decided to finally do something about it.

I’m writing this here to let you know that my dental appointments, which can run for 4-5 hrs on days I’m already working at my part-time job, may hinder my ability to write or be present here over the next 1-2 weeks. I wanted to let you know this in case you wondered why I started writing regularly only to suddenly stop. The answer is rather mundane: I’m being kept busy by the responsibilities of adult life.

I’m looking to 2021 as the year I can start giving all my spare energy to these blogs, and while you never know what can happen between now and then; I feel I am building a decent foundation slowly but surely.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate in so many ways this year, but it has been a rough year for us all and my ability (and sometimes my willingness) to put out content has suffered. I’ve dealt with confidence issues and other mental health problems this year, but with regular exercise and the willpower to face my demons, I’m crawling out of a hole into which I’d steadily been falling.

Now, along with getting my teeth fixed and maintaining a healthy workout routine, my goal will be to start putting out more content. Like it says in the Facebook meme most of us passed around this year: I’m not where I want to be, but I’m happy I’m no longer where I was before.

I hope you are as well as you can be in this rough year, and I wish you the best this holiday season. See ya soon.

Wes Annac 🙂
