Numerology is big in Kundalini Yoga and based on Nam Hari Kaur’s post, I learned that October carries ‘Standing in Your Truth’ theme. October, as 10th month, brings the number 10. It embodies:
- courage
- self-sovereignty
- balance between the relationship of the head and the heart.
Our head may be dictating one thing, and our heart will be crying out for another.
TIME TO RECONSIDER THE DIRECTION OF OUR LIVES
There is an opportunity at this time to reconsider the direction of our lives, and decide if it is serving the purpose of our emotional fulfillment and creativity or, if we are following an imprinted script that our mind has adopted in order to survive.
EXAMPLE IN MOVIES: The Horse Whisperer
In the brilliant 1998 movie, “The Horse Whisperer,” a teenage girl named Grace is involved in a tragic highway accident that leaves her and the horse she is riding severely injured. It also leaves her friend, Judith, and the horse she was riding, dead.
The story line progresses to a ranch in Montana, where Grace’s mom, Annie, has found a man who is called a “horse whisper.” This is someone who has the ability to communicate beyond words, and a sensitivity that can read the emotions of another being. Annie believes that if the horse, Pilgrim, can be healed of his trauma, then somehow her daughter Grace will become well again too.
This film is well worth seeing, as it strikes an emotional chord of resurrection that we are all longing for at this time. “Resurrection from what?” you might ask. This would be the visible or invisible wounds of the past that have us believing that we just can’t quite be okay, or totally heal, because of the mega-shit we’ve been through. Think you’re alone in this? Think again, and know that the first sutra of the Aquarian Age is:
Recognize that the other person is you.
WHAT ARE YOUR TRYING TO BREAK FREE FROM?
There are lifetimes of ancestral scripting that we are all trying to break free from now, and many people are feeling, “Why does it all have to be so damn hard?” Well, there can be any number (hah!) of reasons for this, and it takes a very brave Soul to stand up to the archival echo and say,
I’m just not having it anymore!
EMPOWER YOURSELF IN OCTOBER
This is where it is imperative to empower yourself in October, as the number 10 also represents our nervous system and Radiant Body. Cut the caffeine, and boost yourself with 3 minutes of Archer Pose daily, both left and right side. If you would like the “espresso” version of this, chant the mantra Gobinday, Mukunday, Udaray, Aparay, Hariang, Kariang, Nirnamay, Akamay while in Archer Pose. This mantra helps to open the Heart Chakra and gives courage to your spirit.
We will need the strength of our heart and nervous system, because when people feel the pressure of their pain releasing, they often take it out on those around them. The Base number for October is a 9, and when number 9 goes negative it can yield a ruthless intensity. In the positive polarity number 9 knows exactly where to be, and where not to be. We have all heard the expression,
I just saw it coming.
LISTENING TO YOUR SUBTLE BODY
is important now, as it will save your Radiant Body from having to expend energy in dealing with conflict.
The extra spin on the month of October is that the Heart calculation is a 7, by way of 16. Sixteen is the number of kindness and forgiveness, and this forgiveness needs to be as much for ourselves as anyone else.
Since 16 reduces down to a 7, we may be feeling a bit lonely in our heart, as 7 is the archetype of the Solitary Spiritualist. Seven also represents the need to know, and to look for the missing pieces of information that can bring a sense of completion in understanding our journey.
When you understand a situation it is easier to let go, to forgive it. Otherwise you may endlessly wrestle with bits and pieces of, “You hurt me so terribly, and you are totally awful because of this.” For example, randomly picking from the potential pain spectrum of childhood experiences, maybe your mother emotionally abandoned you because she went through a miscarriage, and you never knew about. You may not get all the cards in the deck as to why a time in your past felt so empty and vacant, yet now, it is to your advantage to let it go.
THE NUMBER 7 OF THE HEART FOR OCTOBER
It Embodies the themes of music, singing, and the voice. Sing out loud, chant, go to the railroad tracks and scream if you need to, just get it off your chest.
As we are winding down the year it is important to note that the overall number for 2015 is an 8 (2+0+1+5=8). Number 8 represents healing, and the process of healing is not always a pretty picture. However, there are ways to smooth out the steps required to become well and balanced.
REMEDIES FOR OCTOBER
- One simple yet effective remedy is from the Plant Kingdom, and you might benefit from the Bach Flower Essence called “Star of Bethlehem.”
Star of Bethlehem is for shock or trauma that has been experienced at any point in your life, where you have not been able to move past the negative emotions of the incident.
Every little bit of self-nurturing helps. Remember to take good care of yourself, slow down your pacing of life, and be present with the healing that can manifest in the moment.
“Feel the transformative experience of connecting yourself to the infinite, and the power and strength that comes from that connection.”
