Wisdom with Wes: Appreciating Every Season

Snapshot_20140731_2Spring will be returning to one half of the globe in a few months, and as excited as most of us probably are for it, we’ll want to appreciate the here and now if our goal is to get the most out of the earthly experience.

Difficult things like winter are necessary in their own way, and we might as well embrace circumstances we’d rather not face instead of convincing ourselves they’re boogeymen we should avoid.

I’ve learned in the past few months that winter can be just as beautiful as spring, summer and fall, but it’s beautiful in a different way. Nobody really likes the cold temperatures, but without them, we wouldn’t get the photogenic snow we enjoy so much.

We’d miss out on a lot of great things if we didn’t have winter, and I almost feel bad for people in the south who hardy ever get to see snow, if at all.

They get to enjoy beautiful, sunny weather while the rest of us have to deal with harsh, uncomfortable temperatures, but they also miss out on some of the amazing and essential experiences winter offers.

I think winter’s meant to teach us certain lessons, and as always, we can only learn what it teaches if our eyes and ears are open. As long as we’re open to the lessons each season brings, we’ll get the most out of them and we’ll welcome each change of season with as much joy and enthusiasm as the last.

Do you enjoy every season?

Stay aware!

Wes Annac 🙂

  1. I used to live in Toronto, till they gangstalked me out of Canada in 2006.

I hate Brazil as a country. But the ONLY thing that makes it bearable is the SUNNY WHEATHER ALL YEAR ROUND. I can go to the beach almost all year!

Supposedly near where I live (in my state) it is the third best weather in the world (a little cooler than where I live since it is in the mountains).

But I LOVE where I live.

I don’t know if I have the courage – and strengh of mind to go back and live in Canada (as I am a citzen), in that cold, after being subject of so much “civilized” “first-world” IMPERIAL BULLSHIT.

PS – I live in Brazil for those too lazy to go to my website.
