1. Like every Sagittarius New Moon, this one is re-setting your relationship with the truth of who you are and why you are here. Like everything that happens in Sagittarius, it’s ruled by Jupiter, your pipeline to blessing and grace – and to wisdom. The largest planet in our solar system, he’s one of the two the ancients called “guru.” This year, as the Sun and Moon merge their energies to create a new beginning, Jupiter — the guru of grace — is at a crossroads in his relationships with both power and liberation. And so are you.
This is also the second of three consecutive years when Saturn, the gatekeeper of our 3D reality — nows to the ancients as the other guru — , is traveling through Jupiter’s sign of Sagittarius, for the first time in 29 years. The year ahead is the one when you begin a whole new cycle in manifesting the truth of your being. As Saturn aligns not once, with the massive transformational energy at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy, you’re going to be pushed as never before to bring even more of your deepest truth into the reality of your life – and of our world.
2. There’s reality-changing power in this New Moon — the power to re-shape the course of events. Pioneering 20th-century astrologer Marc Edmund Jones, one of the all-time great astrological minds, described this power as the ability to “mold or re-mold the course of events.”
The Sabian symbol for the New Moon degree — “Rocks and things forming therein” — tells us that something of indestructible strength and value is being created right now. It’s not coming from the outer world. Like everything else in the Universe, it’s an inside-out job.
For Jones, this symbol depicts “the necessity that [we] create [our] own reality out of the actual situations in which [we] become involved.” He didn’t say that we can create our own reality. He said we must. It’s necessity.
Everyone who accepts her [or his] roots and takes advantage of this gift, Jones continued, “is enabled to proceed to high achievement.” What this new moon is showing you is how and where you can develop the qualities that will allow you to proceed to high achievement and exceptional ability.

3. Take a close look at power, truth, and your partnerships, as the New Moon conjuncts Juno
This New Moon makes a nearly exact conjunction to an ancient asteroid who’s been part of our solar system since the Sun was born. The size of a small planet herself, she’s called Juno. Her primordial energy puts your relationship with justice, power, belief, and vision – and most of all, the role they play in your closest partnerships – at the very heart of the lunar cycle that’s about to begin.
What Juno shows us about ourselves and our relationships isn’t always easy to see. That’s why it’s so powerful.
Once, in the Deep Time, she was the Great Goddess. Then came a shift in consciousness. The Universe changed. Juno became the humiliated wife of a notoriously unfaithful and all-powerful husband, the badly treated half of a cosmic power couple. She had all the trappings — everything but love.

As she makes herself new, Luna – with Juno’s signature etched into our emotional reality – is being pulled by the two most karmic points in the sky, the lunar nodes. These potent carriers of evolutionary dragon energy are telling the Power Wife – within and around you — that it’s time to evolve.
Every square is an initiation. It brings a challenge, and the imperative that you master it. Squares to the Nodes bring challenges that are enormous. They’re a familiar signature in the charts of reality-changing catastrophic events.The outbreak of the U. S. Civil War and of World War II, the sinking of the Titanic, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the 1986 explosion of the shuttle Challenger, and the September 11 bombing of the Twin Towers – all occurred when planets were squaring the lunar nodes, who often were themselves conjuncting planets.
The nodal squares tell us that we can look at all these events, – and the ones that will unfold in the month, and the year, ahead — as initiations. However “disaster” unfolds, this New Moon pattern tells us that we’re at a point where our evolution – and our survival — depends not on business as usual, but on seeing what must change in our relationship with truth, with power, and with justice. Desperate times, the saying goes, call for desperate measures. This New Moon is a signal that the Cosmos considers these times desperate ones for human consciousness.
And right now, both Nodes are carrying even more power than they normally do. The South Node is conjunct Neptune, whose power is so subtle and profound it can easily be missed until we realize we’ve reached a point of no return.
As with every activation of Neptune, this one comes to dissolve patterns that are too rigid to connect us to all the inspiration we need to go forward. Thinning the veil between realities, the squares brings direct access to energies that are normally hidden. They’re showing us how our Juno energy – and with her, our own creative will and our emotional reality — gets trapped.

A Kuiper Belt object who travels in parallel to Pluto, Orcus carries the frequencies of the soul vows you have taken.
