Life seems to require a balance between working hard and spending time with the people in our lives.
Some of us feel like we’re here on a mission to uplift everyone who’s been lost in unawareness life after life, but we can’t work so hard that we forget to have fun or enjoy the company of the people we’re close with.
Our family deserves as much of our attention as our work, and even though we’re here to do a lot of revolutionary things, we’re also here to enjoy the simple, humble experiences we gain spending time with family or doing something else we wouldn’t expect to do.
If I’ve learned anything recently, it’s that spontaneity is a helpful trait on the spiritual path.
It might help us follow the wild impulses we sometimes receive to put down whatever we’re doing and try something new or spend time with loved ones. As long as we’re willing to ‘be like water’ (as Bruce Lee said) and flow with every situation we face, we’ll easily make time for work and fun.
