Wisdom With Wes: The Poison of Self-Enforced Guilt

Snapshot_20140731_2If we stray from our life paths by getting angry or doing something we know isn’t in alignment with the goals we’ve set, the worst thing we can do is descend into guilt. We don’t gain anything by making ourselves feel bad or guilty because we faltered, and we’ll benefit far more from picking ourselves back up and continuing on.

We won’t make any further progress if we’re racked with self-enforced guilt, but we can make a lot of potent progress if we keep our heads up and move forward – even when we falter. We’re here to learn, grow and make mistakes, and to internally punish ourselves for making them is to punish ourselves for doing what we came here to do – experience the lower vibrations.

Yes, a growing number of us are ready to anchor and express mastery, which entails no longer making mistakes, but we have to see that we’re going to falter along the way. This doesn’t make us ‘bad’ or render us incapable of traversing the spiritual path – it simply shows us that we have more work to do.

We can’t do this work if we’re too racked with guilt, so let’s empower ourselves with the understanding that everything we do and experience – good or bad – is ultimately necessary.

Do you choose to forgive yourself today?
