Note from Stephen Cook: As with everything the dark and/or their minions – or even our friends and family – have done that can be viewed as ‘not of the light’, we must all be ready, willing and able to forgive. The time is upon us.

Pope Francis has made his first public plea for forgiveness for the “evil” committed by priests who molested children.

Using some of his strongest words yet on the Roman Catholic Church’s sexual abuse crisis, the Pope went off script to say: “I feel compelled to personally take on all the evil which some priests – quite a few in number, (although) obviously not compared to the number of all priests – to personally ask for forgiveness for the damage they have done for having sexually abused children.”

The Pope, who has faced criticism for his apparent lack of attention to the child abuse scandal within the Catholic Church, last month rebutted accusations made by the UN about senior prelates covering up for abusive priests.

“The Catholic Church is possibly the only public institution to have acted with transparency and responsibility,” he said in a newspaper interview at the time. “No one else has done more. Yet the Church is the only one to be attacked.”

Francis’s apology suggests a change of direction for the pope and follows the Vatican’s decision last month to name a former abuse victim, the Irish anti-abuse campaigner Marie Collins, to a new Vatican panel set up to study the issue.

“The Church is aware of this damage,” Francis said, quoted by Vatican Radio. “It is personal, moral damage carried out by men of the Church, and we will not take one step backward with regards to how we will deal with this problem, and the sanctions that must be imposed. On the contrary, we have to be even stronger. Because you cannot interfere with children.”

Francis’s statement echoes the apology made to the victims of abusive priests in Ireland by his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI. In a letter to victims in 2010, Benedict wrote, “You have suffered grievously and I am truly sorry, “ adding, “Your trust has been betrayed and your dignity has been violated… I openly express the shame and remorse that we all feel.”

  1. It’s time to “forgive” Oh really? Forgiveness is for the millions victims give or not as they see fit. The sexual abuse of children by priests in the Catholic church is not a “problem” it is an immense and horrific atrocity of gargantuan proportions which is still going on. Obviously it is not only Catholic priests but priests on other religions/cults too. Witness the LDS.

This is a very great evil perpetrated by psychopaths of the worst kind. They are not curable. They are evil and really evil people are not curable. In this instance people talk of forgiveness rather lightly. One might be forgiven for misreading the word, “forgive” as “forget”

As for apologizing to the families, they are the ones who placed their children in the abusive situations. They also are culpable. Someone needs to get their story straight here.

  3. WOW – how charitable some of the comments are. WE DO NOT KNOW the reasons why things happen. But, I can assure everyone that we have ALL created darkness and evil, as we perceive/name things to be. We have also all been elevated and enlightened beings. We are here is this out of control “game” to experience the depths of separation from GOD….LOVE in all things. I can say with certainty that GOD does not have a judgment or opinion on what any of us do. His love is unlimited. We live in a free will zone. The agreements we made were to FULLY experience what it is like when we are completely disconnected from GOD and the love that is everything.

IF you feel in your heart that GOD is judgmental and unforgiving – I would ask you to look at your own ego. It is the “programming” we have been spoon fed by the dark forces that have taken over our world for profit. AND we, the entire population of Earth, have agreed to experience all that has/is/will happen or it could not be.

I encourage you to sit quietly and think about unconditional love and what it really means. For I know without doubt that living in UN-conditional love leaves you free of judgment and immersed in compassion, forgiveness and LOVE.

Namaste’ is an ancient Sanskrit understanding that says, “I respect the place in you that is of love, of truth and of Light. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me then we are one.”
