Stephen Cook: Everything is Beautiful…

Written by Stephen Cook

everything is beautifulOK, I was just telling Steve how, yesterday – which was my 6/6/6 (2+0+1+3) (June 6) –  I had the strangest thing happen.

For some time, I’ve been telling people that I ‘felt’ that the 6/6/6 was a special day; a special portal; a special ‘something’.

Well I was EXHAUSTED yesterday… I could hardly get out of bed. And when I did, I was kinda floating around.

Unfortunately, I had to leave the house because our cupboard was bare and I had to get some groceries. I could have put myself in the trolley.

I even tried to leave the shopping centre car park  by pressing the ticket button, instead of inserting my ticket. And when I realised that I actually didn’t have the ticket – any ticket – in my hand, I searched but couldn’t instantly find it.

So I had to embarrassingly wait for the driver in the car sitting patiently behind me to join another line so I could reverse away from the exit boom gate and gather myself together enough to try and find the ticket, so I could leave the car park without paying their $50 Lost Ticket Fee, which I couldn’t afford anyway (with less that $2 in my wallet).

(And yes, after a frantic search, the ticket was where I must have put it when I got out of the car!)

BUT all of this is MOST unusual for me as I am usually very organised  and, rarely, very very rarely, do I ‘vague out,’ if ever.

However, to top it all off – and this is the really weird bit – several times throughout the day I found myself literally bursting into song.

Not quietly. But loudly, exuberantly, with conviction and a smile!

Everything is Beautiful, in it’s own Wa-ay...” I boomed!

Not once but several times. Anthony even said: “why are you singing that song?”

And you know what? I couldn’t say… it just came INTO my head and OUT of my mouth.

This morning (my time) I looked up the song and found out it was a song from 1970. I turned 9 years old in 1970!

It was also by an artist I also have no real recollection of either, named Ray Stevens.

Now I must have heard it on the radio a few times as a kid – but how did I know not only the melody, but the words – and suddenly, yesterday? Forty-three years later?

Even today, I have no idea how it came into my head.

But then I found it on YouTube and listened to Ray Stevens singing the words properly… and i couldn’t think of a more appropriate song for my 6/6/6 experience.

Everything IS Beautiful! ENJOY!
