A little over three weeks ago The Hope Chest sent out a request for funds to help those in need. Thank you to all who have contributed to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need.
We’d like to give a report on what has happened since then. As mentioned, as the 2012 Scenario and the Hope Chest gain more popularity, so do the requests of those in need.
Hunger, financial difficulty and homelessness never take a vacation.
It’s our policy to assist in emergency situations for food, gas, utilities, etc. We’re not able to meet all the needs or requests that come in. Our purpose is to give people hope in a time of desperate need. It’s amazing what a small amount of money will do for one’s attitudes and spirit.
Though it may not pay the full utility bill or rent payment, it lets them know someone cares; it lets them know they are not alone in their struggle to just get by. In a time of what can be deep fear, we hope they experience that someone loves them. It’s amazing what that little bit of hope will do.
You’re the ones who make that difference.
But I’m the one who makes the decisions on what they receive and receives the thank you’s. I hear the joy and relief that’s expressed. More than once I’ve been on the verge of tears as I hear the responses of the recipients when the money arrives.
On their behalf I want to say: Thank you!!!
We’ve helped for rent when on the verge of eviction and homelessness; for food when hungry; for keeping the lights on. The one thing that’s standing out this time of the year is young single mothers with early school-age children.
I find they’ll do anything to help their children from being teased by classmates for having shoes with holes, no socks or old clothes as the new school year starts. I find they go without, themselves, just to see their children be able to stand among their peers and feel like they’re not poor or “less than” their classmates. Their pleas come with great passion.
One of the recipients said it best:
“Beloved ‘Hope Chest,’ you probably already know this, but you’ve kept so many Lightworkers off the street with a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs, so that they’ve been able to focus on the needed ‘work’ to transform our world. MAY GOD BLESS you ALL for the very kind and generous assistance that you give.”
In a little over two weeks we received approximately $16,500 from 160 donors. In the same time we paid out approximately $15,200 to 74 recipients. As you can see it goes out almost as fast as it comes in.
So if you have some extra funds on hand, we ask you, in light of the many requests that continue to come in, to consider making a donation. You can click on the donate tab [not on Aquarius Channelings – on the 2012 Scenario Blog Site] and give via PayPal or with a debit or credit card. If you prefer to send a check, click on the Hope Chest logo and it will take you to the Hope Chest page where you’ll see the mailing address to send a check.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
